There is a nice RV and tent campgound in Cherokee Village. It is located on the South Fork River on Cherokee Road, near the Baseheart Fire Station - ask for directions at the Gas Station in Town Center.

Note: Only Cherokee Village property owners and their guests can use this private facility.

Property Owner Guest

• Recreation vehicle: $15.00 per night.
  
• Tent: $12.00 per night w/electric and water or $10.00 per night w/out electric and water.

• Recreation vehicle: $12.00 per night.
  
• Tent: $10.00 per night w/electric and water, or $7.50 per night w/out electric and water.

Day pass to the river (to Sunset): $2.00

An RV dump is located nearby at the Service Station in Town Center. There are horseshoe pitching courts at the campground. Horeshoes may be borrowed at the nearby fire station.

Reservations for the campground are not taken but normally they are not full. Alternatively, there are other campgrounds near Hardy along the Spring River.

Cherokee Village Swimming Facilities

There are 2 swimming facilities in Cherokee Village. The first is located at Thunderbird Center, and includes shuffleboard and miniature golf in addition to the pool overlooking Lake Thunderbird. The other is located at Omaha Center.

 There is also sandy Gitchegumee Beach on beautiful Lake Sequoyah, which has no charge for it's use, but does not have a lifeguard.

 Pools are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and passes are available through the SID.

• Omaha Center (open Noon to 7 PM): $3.00 per day

• Thunderbird Center (open Noon to 7 PM): $3.00 per day

• Swim Pass (individual): $37.50

• Omaha Center (open Noon to 7 PM): $2.00 per day

• Thunderbird Center (open Noon to 7 PM): $2.00 per day

• Swim Pass (individual): $27.50

Cherokee Village Tennis Courts

The tennis courts are located at the North Recreation Center, and are reserved every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM to 11 AM for the Cherokee Village Tennis Club. All other times are first come, first serve.

Exercise Room at Omaha Center

The exercise room is available, at Omaha Center, to persons 18 years of age and older. Rates are as follows:

• Annual Fee: $100.00 per person
• Daily Use: $3.00 per person
